Spanish for the Library
This online, self-paced tutorial is designed to help library staff interact effectively with their Spanish-speaking patrons. It focuses on learning Spanish pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary specific to libraries. There are phonetic pronunciations and audio files for all words and phrases. The tutorial also includes information about Spanish-speaking cultures and resources for library outreach. By completing six lessons in the tutorial and practicing pronunciation, students will develop the confidence and skills to make Spanish speakers feel welcome in the library. Technology requirement:The course must be viewed using Mozilla Firefox as an internet browser. It is available to download for free at www.mozilla.com.
