About the UW-Madison SLIS Alumni Association

The School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) Alumni Association provides advocacy, financial, and professional support to SLIS, enhances the education and training received by students, and facilitates networking opportunities for alumni.

Membership is open to graduates of UW-Madison SLIS. Anyone currently enrolled in SLIS, or has earned credits or is interested in libraries or librarianship can be an Affiliate. Each member receives the biannual newsletter, Jottings & Digressions, and is kept informed about events like class reunions at annual conferences.

Once a year the Rachel K. Schenk Scholarship Fund is awarded by the Alumni Association to a SLIS student who demonstrates both academic merit and financial need. In order to be eligible, the student must be enrolled in SLIS for at least one semester. (See SLIS Scholarship Funds for more information.)
