NAPH is the professional organization of professors and instructors in colleges, universities and seminaries who specialize in Hebrew language and literature of the ancient, medieval and modern periods.

 

NAPH holds an International Conference on Hebrew Language, Literature and Culture every spring. The 2008 Conference will be held at McGill University, Montreal, Canada. It also conducts an annual sessions of papers and deliberations every fall in conjunction with the national convention of the AAR/SBL in the fall, as well as with its Western Regional annual meeting.

 

Publications include: Hebrew Studies, an internationally recognized scholarly journal devoted to studies of Hebrew language and literature of all periods; Hebrew Higher Education, a journal for methodology and pedagogy in academic teaching of Hebrew language and literature; Iggeret, the semi-annual newsletter of NAPH.

 

Eta Beta RhoNAPH sponsors Eta Beta Rho, the national Honors Society for students who have distinguished themselves in the study of Hebrew.
