Multilingualism in the Middle Ages:
This forms an aspect of studying identities in the early middle ages.

History of the Medieval Book:

Medieval Chronicle Studies:
A type of primary source central to much of my research. I am working in particular at the moment on aspects of the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle and on early medieval origin legends; I will be a keynote speaker at the conference on Anglo-Saxon Chronicle in York this summer.

Other Possible Themes:
The interaction of religion and society; how the one is modified by the other would be a good theme that could bring in a whole range of medieval media and texts.
