Network Equipment
- A: Asante 12-port 10Base-T hub
- B: Cabletron MRXI 12-port 10Base-T hub w/LANView
- C: Asante 12-port 10Base-T hub
- Strange light guide cable box
The more astute visitors to room 1369A will notice that hub C is not punched
down in the traditional manner (ie, from an amphenol connector or some such
thing on the hub to the back of the "C" row of 110 blocks). This is for a
number of reasons (it was added later, we had no amphenol connectors,
and we didn't have enough of the little 110 connectors, either), and the
10Base-T cables which run between the hub and the wall jack punchdowns are
just strung across willy-nilly. I am sorry for the mess.
The table above lists the hub port which corresponds to the given wall jack,
not the position on the "C" 110 block. Some of
the cables running from the hub do indeed go up to the "C" row, however, and
to eliminate any possible confusion, I will list them here:

Why, you might ask, is this done in such a shoddy and haphazard way? The
only response I can offer is that I was pretty new at the job and I didn't
really know what I was doing when I mounted that hub and made the
punchdowns. Sorry.
